Home Education Sessions – Food Glorious Food – Marshmallow Construction
This series of Home Educator sessions is all about using things we eat to demonstrate some STEM ideas. From construction to genetics, to renewable energy. How can food, glorious, food help us to learn science.
Engineers have been constructing tall buildings for thousands of years. Often creating structures that are awesome or beautiful. In this session we will explore construction techniques and experiment with different geometric shapes in construction, comparing their effectiveness in stabilising our very own skyscraper made from spaghetti!
This session forms part of our special programme, just for home educated young learners, with weekly sessions of hands-on activities.
The sessions will last approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes and each week will be based on a different curriculum topic. We will also have some free exploration time.
